We need confidence and trust in ourselves, the teachers, and the teachings if we are going to progress on the path. However, we also need to examine and question the lama’s teachings. Blind faith is an obstacle. Over time, as your practice and understanding deepen, Confidence, Trust, and Faith become strong based on your experience. As your own practice evolves, you develop devotion and want to be like the guru who embodies the Dharma and from whom you receive teachings.
