DEVELOPING & MAINTAINING A PEACEFUL MIND USING THE SIX PERFECTIONS
With the right motivation, intention, and training, we can transform every situation into an opportunity to help ourselves and others. Lama Karma Drodhul returned to Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center the last week of April 2018 to continue with a teaching on The Six Perfections (or Six Paramitas) that he began two years ago. The first perfection covered was Generosity and Lama Karma continued with the second of the perfections, Moral or Ethical Conduct. These activities help up to engage in actions that refrain from causing harm to ourselves and others. They also enable us to provide help and support for ourselves and others. Perfecting skillful conduct helps our minds be peaceful and our actions more beneficial. Lama Karma was raised in a nomadic yak herding family in Tibet and is a resident teacher at KTD Monastery in Woodstock, NY.
Lama Karma also performed the empowerment of the 1000 Armed Chenrezig Empowerment. This is the deity we visualize during the Nyungne (or Buddhist Fasting Practice).
