Over Mother’s Day weekend, the Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center held a residential Nyungne retreat for the benefit of all mother-beings. We had a wonderful group which included Center members and visitors from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New Mexico.
The Nyungne practice is performed to relieve suffering of all sentient beings. The practice is very good for the accumulation of merit and for purification of one’s negative karma. The practice includes chanting and mantra recitation along with periods of silence and fasting. Developing and increasing one’s compassion for all sentient beings is the heart of this retreat.
Our Center hosts multiple retreats every year, and this Fall we plan to hold multiple Nyungne sessions in a row, with specific dates TBA. Be sure and check our website for updates: Schedule for Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center
