MAY 19 – MAY 28 THE NYUNGNE RESIDENTIAL RETREAT
This May the Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center in Ridgeland, WI held several full practices of the Nyungne. The Nyungne is the practice of 1000-armed Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion. The practice is very good for accumulating merit and purifying negative karma. Enhancing one’s compassion for all sentient beings is the heart of this retreat. There will be chanting, mantra recitation, visualizations, as well as periods of silence and fasting. You must have taken the refuge vow and have the reading transmission in order to be eligible to attend. It is helpful to have read about or attended teachings on the practice for maximum benefit.
Thanks to the kindness and compassion of Lama Yeshe for offering this rare and precious practice. We also thank Bill Hatton who generously sponsored lunches (including cooks/servers) during the retreat. If you are not able to physically join us there is great merit in helping to sponsor the event and/or participants. Let us know if you have interest in doing the Nyungne practice in the future and we will add you to our contact list.
