OCTOBER 19 – NOVEMBER 4 NYUNGNE RESIDENTIAL RETREAT – EIGHT IN A ROW
The Nyungne retreat is one on the main practices of the Hay River KTC. We are very fortunate to have Lama Yeshe and the opportunity to do this Buddhist Fasting practice several times a year. This fall ( Oct 19 thru Nov 5) we held eight in a row. This practice is done to purify negative karma accumulated in this life and countless past ones. It also helps to develop our inherent compassion for all beings along with other positive qualities. During the orientation, on Friday night, Lama Yeshe will discuss the vows that are taken, the retreat schedule, and additional information to help participants get the most benefit from the practice. The Thousand Armed Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of great compassion, is the yidam deity (the enlightened mind manifesting as a diety) of this practice. The reading transmission is prerequisite (along with the refuge vow) for participation in the Nyungne practice and will be given during the Friday night orientation.
Contact Lama Yeshe for additional information about attending a Nyungne (Buddhist Fasting Practice) at 108yeshe@gmailcom. Pricing for the retreat is usually $550 for all 8 and $105 for just one. Please email for pricing if you are considering doing 2-7 of the practices. This amount covers your lodging and meals, when permitted.
The Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center is located near Ridgeland, WI. The center is dedicated to the teachings and practices of the authentic Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Yeshe, a fully ordained monk in this tradition is the resident teacher. See our website at www.ktchayriver.org.
